Skylark, a Egyptian Arabian, was part of a 15 horse rescue that Easy Street did on March 22, 2012. She was very pregnant then, but she managed to wait several weeks until her little colt was born around May 9. The foal is very healthy and our vet says he is one of the healthiest foals they’ve seen this year, which is all thanks to his mama who gave all the nutrients to him and was quite emaciated after giving birth. She is gaining weight now and starting to look better. While the little guy runs around enjoying life. Both mama and son are available for adoption together. Whomever wants the foal must promise a forever home for Sky with no more pregnancies. She has had one almost every year and is only 14 years old.She is a sweet mare who thrives on attention. The foal’s sire is Jovy, a thoroughbred, that was also part of the seizure. Anyone interested in adopting the pair may download an adoption application from www.easystreetrescue.org and find it under the Forms tab. To visit the pair please call 518-421-0125 for an appointment. They are both at a foster home so an appointment is a must. Adoption fee is $500 to cover vetting.
