Abbe riding Shiloh

This is Shiloh a 15 yo gelding, standing about 15 hands, rides, and said to be quiet trail riding horse.

Shiloh has been adopted by Abbegale, “Abbe” daughter of Deputy Paul Krug, rescuer of Shiloh and Morgan (below) calling Easy Street Rescue to take them in.

It is such a happy outcome for Shiloh to now be with Abbe!

Without intervention we believe both horses would have died of starvation or freezing, as it was mid-December, winter just beginning and no fat left on the horse's bodies.

Easy Street Horse Rescue: Both horses, Morgan and Shiloh, who were part of a sheriff's seizure in Dec09; have been adopted! These are the success stories that emphasize why Easy Street Rescue is here. Please look at their pix of before and after (at adoption and on arrival).

Don't these two look perfect together?!

Morgan was part of a sheriff's seizure in December 2009.

This is El Jefe an 11 year old 16.3h Grey Hanovarian TB x gelding.

Jefe's has been adopted by Connie.

Jefe's first owner....
El Jefe has always been a big puppy dog. Before coming to his second home, he was turned out every day in a huge grassy paddock with a thoroughbred mare that he loved. He did trail rides, events, hunter paces and at one point went to college with his owner at the time, but returned shorty as she did not have enough time for him. He was never spooky, and loved the trails. Jefe had no health issues and was a happy horse

Ginger is a very sweet chestnut mare, and a total sweetheart. Ginger raced as a 3 year old but only placed in one race. We believe that's because Ginger is definitely a Lover not a Racer. :)

Dillon

   Blacky

Diane adopted Dillon and Blacky

Dillon has been adopted! Congratulations, Diane! We know the two of you will be great together! We will miss Dillon, but know he's going to have a wonderful life with you.

Our wonderful horse angel, Diane, adopted Blacky to keep Dillon company! Blacky is a pasture companion only, which usually means it is harder to find a home. Diane.. Blacky and all of us send you a lifetime of horse hugs and kisses for taking him to a wonderful and safe forever home!!! Dillon and Blacky are already great pals so it is doubly great that they will have each other! THANK YOU!!

See more pix of them by clicking here.

This is Dillon - Paso or Paso-Mix gelding, born in 2005, stands just over 15 hands right now.

This is Blacky - 22 years old, stands 16 hands. A very wonderful sweet gelding that is no longer able to be ridden due to arthritis in back.

Archer

Archer went to live with his new family today, which includes a cute redhead who pranced around him flirting. Archer barely gave her a whinny instead just started eating the delicious pasture they were in. It was obvious she felt snubbed. She finally gave up on getting his attention and joined in the feast! They make a charming couple now, and have a wonderful two legged family the Huffs with 3 children who are looking forward to learning to ride on Archer...

Archer needed a home where children want to learn to ride and to love a wonderful pony.   Although it was raining, it was still a wonderful day.

This is Archer - Haflinger Pony gelding, 25 yrs old, stands 14 hands.

Archer is a perfect starter pony for small children, very gentle and easy to handle.

LT is a very sweet horse who had some injuries to his front left leg early in his life.  He is sound now but is not to be used in any jumping or hard trail riding/gaming activity in which undue stress might be placed on him.  For the first two years of his life in Texas he was shown in Halter class and became a Grand Champion.

Molly and Polly, mother and daughter who were together for 30+ years until being separated during a rescue where 17 horses were seized from a former riding stable by the Humane Society and local law enforcement are together again on Easy Street.

Molly and Polly are guaranteed to have a better life as it was determined by the court that they both be surrendered to Easy Street Rescue.

Molly and Polly have found a new home!  They are now living permanently at an Easy Street Horse Rescue foster home, run by Elaine and her daughter Gabryelle.  Due to the advanced ages of the mares, and the need to ensure they are never separated, Molly and Polly will not be available for Adoption and will live permanently in their new home.

This is Molly and Polly at their new home!

Shown in the picture (above), from right to left is Elaine with Molly, Gabryelle with Polly, and Lisa whom graciously volunteered to trailer the mares to their new home.

Bert upon arrival on Easy Street

MacKenzie on Bert at his new home

This is Bert - Bert is a very well behaved former trotter who had been acquired by a kind local Amish farmer to pull the family carriage.  One day the farmer found Bert had fallen down an embankment receiving several cuts, scrapes and a limp. He wasnt sure if Bert could continue pulling the carriage, and he knew he couldn't keep him if he couldn't work so he contacted a neighbor to ask if she knew anyone that would take Bert. A big THANK YOU to Dawn, the neighbor, for contacting Easy Street Rescue and arranging his transportation. She is truly an equine Good Samaritan.  After much rest, rehabilitation and loving care Bert is healthy again.

Bert has been adopted by The Diamond Family...

Mom - Tiffany     Dad - Charles

Daughters - MacKenzie and Sierra

Babe was a sweet gal and very responsive to the loving she received, and it warmed the heart.  She took pleasure in a thorough brushing and pampering by volunteers the day Pilgrim made tracks to spend a few days at the Fonda Fair.  Babe really enjoyed the attention.

To the left is Babe - a 22 yr old Belgian Mare who was originally from an Amish farm and on her way to a kill auction when she got detoured to Easy Street.  After a full Vet check-up it was found that she had a heart mummer, needed to gain 400 lbs, and was permanently lame due to the hard work she endured.

Unbeknownst to us, Babe arrived pregnant and gave us a

Thanksgiving Day surprise!  Babe gave birth to Pilgrim, Thanksgiving Day in 2006.

Babe, past away on New Years Eve in 2008.

Babes spirit will live on forever in Pilgrim

who has been adopted to become a Therapeutic Riding Horse.

We will never, ever forget you, Babe.

Pilgrim is a full Belgian Colt. Gelded July-2007.

He leads, stands for Farrier/Vet and learns quickly. Pilgrim is

amazingly very well behaved, loves attention and being brushed.

He is growing very fast and will stand well over 17 hands.

Pilgrim is impressive!

Most recent update from Patricia

Pilgrim's adopted owner/friend... March 2009

The big guy is doing really well.  He looks great and I get him into the big paddocks whenever I can - they can be tough to access in the winter - and when he gets there he runs around like a nut.  He especially enjoys chasing his sister.  Then they eat their hay and lie down for a nap in the sun.  Too cute.  He can be such a little devil.  Whenever the heated water buckets are knocked over or a fence rail is broken...I know who did it.  I don't have an indoor so keeping him from getting bored in the winter is tough.  Luckily he has his little herd - Blue and Hennesy - and we do what we can.  We did groundwork, some ground driving, and getting him used to wearing a saddle right up until the bad weather hit last year.  He loves, love, loves to learn and is very smart.  Yet there's also that gentleness and tolerant spirit that you just fall in love with.  He's a dream and I can't wait to ride him but from what I understand, the longer you wait with the big guys the better for their joints.  Maybe towards the end of the summer.  I'll check with the vet during spring shots.

Earl's in the Easy Street logo that's at the top of all our WebPages and on our Tee-Shirts.

To the left is Earl a permanently retired Thoroughbred

Earl is a Thoroughbred with a mysterious past life.  Since he's been at Easy Street we've discovered he's a great "Nanny" for the yearlings and teaches them things like how to stand nicely for the farrier.  From his tattoo and his love of running, we think he might have had a successful racing career.  He rides english and western, and does pretty well at both.  He is very responsive to the bit in the ring and over jumps.  We found him at an auction that brought in horses from North Dakota and where he'd been used as a cow horse.  He's 20-something years old, a sweetheart and gives hugs.  Earl has earned his retirement and has a permanent home here on Easy Street.
